Komodo National Park

Komodo National Park, located in the center of the Indonesia archipelago, between the islan of sumbawa and flores, is composed of three major islands(Komodo,Rinca,Padar) and numerous smallerones.all of them of volcanic  origin.These volcanic islands are inhabited by a population of around5.700 giant lizards,whose appearance and agressive behavior have led to them  being called komodo dragons. They exist nowhere else  in the world  and are of great interest to the travellers from all over the world. The rugged  hillsides of dry savannah and pockets of thormy greeen vegetation contrast starkly with the brilliant white sandy beaches and the blue water surging over the coral.


Komodo national park has been selected as one of the New Seven Wonders of Nature. The water surrounding komodo islands also contains  rich marine biodivercity. Komodo island is also be  a part of coral triangle, which contains some of the richest marine biodivercity on earth.
Fringing and path coral reefs are extensive and best developed ond the north-east coast of komodo. The park is rich in marine life, including whale sharks,ocean sunfish,manta rays,eagle rays,pygmy seahorse,false pipefish, clown frogfish,nudibranchs,blue-ringed octopus,sponges and coral. Omura's whale, one of the least known of rorquals have been comfirmed to range waters whithin the park. endangered Dugong still live in komodo areas as well.
